NuuMed was established in Somerset, England after its founder, rider Ian Pocock, set forth to realise his ambition of creating a saddlepad that: fitted saddles correctly, ensured comfort for the horse, looked incredibly well made (and continued to for a long time) and was easy to care for.
A former event rider, Ian had struggled to find saddlepads that didn't move under the saddle, cause pressure along the spinal processes, or create unsightly ‘rub’ marks. With the above in mind Ian set about designing and producing saddlepads and numnahs that fitted saddles correctly, created ample clearance over the wither/spine and most importantly provided total comfort for the horse.
And so came about the NuuMed HiWither saddlepad design that is recognisable today.
Still produced in the UK, NuuMed products are now manufactured in the picturesque Teifi Valley in Cardigan, Wales.
Today, our passionate team continue to ensure our collection of over 80 styles of saddlepads, numnahs and accessories meet with the same high standards of design, product make up, material choice and customer care as they always have. In addition, we offer a made-to-measure service and embroidery department. The latter is very popular with both individual horse owners wanting to personalise their products, and businesses looking to supply quality saddle pads to advertise their own brands.
