The Close Contact style (Grey pad below) fits most modern jump saddles. It has a very forward cut flap which is also shorter that the FC flap and comes with short D straps as standard.
The Showjump style (Amber Apricot pad below) is also designed for jump saddles and the more forward cut GP saddles that are on the market. This has a longer flap than the CC and the flap is not so pointed in front. This style comes from longer top straps as standard and is currently only available as SP34, HQ Saddlepad.
There are many reasons:
No. Wool is the best material to use in summer because of its moisture absorption qualities and its ability to circulate air. For example, NuuMed saddlepads are used in 100 mile endurance competitions in the Middle East - a true test of their ability to perform in the heat.
NuuMed British wool has all the wool you need with no skin attached.
It is specially woven for NuuMed and has all the benefits of a sheep-skin and none of the disadvantages. The British wool we use is shorn from the sheep and knitted onto a cotton yarn backing. This backing takes the place of a skin and is easier to look after, doesn't get heavy when wet, doesn't disintegrate and has not been through lots of chemical processes to make it usable.
Yes, every day if you wish. Just make sure you follow the washing guidelines.
Put on a wool wash at no more than 40 degrees C using our specially formulated washing liquid, NuuWash. If you have run out of NuuWash please use a non biological washing liquid. Please do not use a powder as this can remain in the wool and potentially cause skin irritation
After washing, reshape and hang to dry naturally. Do not dry by means of direct heat or sunlight.
When your NuuMed has dried ,brush the wool out using a comb (or a dandy/ dog brush) to keep it in top condition.
Now you can enjoy your NuuMed everyday!
Whether or not a horse has high wither or not, all numnahs and pads should clear the wither and sit into the gullet of the saddle - and stay there - to ensure there is no pressure anywhere along the back.
Apart from any guidelines issued by any of the disciplines governing bodies, the choice is entirely one of personal preference.
As the number of different saddle designs on the market increases, NuuMed make a growing number of made to measure numnahs for riders keen to make sure they have one which fits properly and does not ‘just make do'. Contact NuuMed on +44 (0) 1239 614648 for more details.
