Zara is one of the UK's most well known and successful event riders. Together with Toytown, she won individual and team gold medals at the 2005 European Eventing Championship; individual gold and team silver medals at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games; and then team gold at the 2007 European Eventing Championships.
Although Zara was selected for the Olympics at Beijing, sadly Toytown sustained an injury which led to her being forced to withdraw from the team - this disappointment was double due to the fact that a similar situation had happened before the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
After Toytown's retirement last year from competition, Zara bounced back with "High Kingdom" and a great performance at Burghley finishing 10th. The year continued with Zara and High Kingdom achieving a fantastic finish of 5th at Burnham Market, in addition to Lord Lauries finishing 9th, showing to be a consistent horse at this level. Zara and High Kingdom then went onto be part of the Silver medal winning British Event team at the London2012 Olympics.

Congratulations! Zara is one of the six selected to represent Team GBR at WEG in Normandy, France (23 August - 7 September, with the eventing competition 28-31 August 2014).

Zara Phillips: "Obviously I'm really excited; it's fantastic to be part of a team again. We've got a bit of work still to do to get back to where we were last year but will have a few more outings to make sure we are right on target with our preparation but it's great to be back, fingers crossed. It's always that extra bit special with every nation being involved. Last time [WEG, 2006] was our first four star Championships, so was a totally different experience, we had a fantastic week and I hope we can produce a good result for the team and the country."
"High Kingdom has improved each year and every time I've taken him to a big competition he's got better and better. He's felt good this year and hopefully will peak at the right time. None of us can do it without our owners and Trevor [Hemmings] has been with me a long time; he's been a huge part of the yard for such a long time and I'm glad we've found such a good horse for him."
A successfull return back to competing for Zara last weekend at Bicton BE.
Competing in the Intermediate section T at Bicton Arena yesterday (27 April), Zara and Mr Murt produced a decent dressage test with a score of 34.1 pen. The pair then went clear in the showjumping and jumped a steady clear on the cross-country to add 18.4 time faults, which was still good enough to win their section.
