Endurance Blog: Introductions

Published on 12/02/2018

  • Endurance Blog: Introductions

My name is Alicia (Lissie) Reeves and I’m very excited to say I am now a Brand Ambassador for Griffin NuuMed! I have been using their products for a while now and have had great success with them! They are always made to the best quality and last a long time.

I’m a 15 year old Advanced Endurance Rider and qualified for FEI*, based in the Peak District. I currently compete 3 of my own horses; Doylan Lacoste’s Gift (Prince), Oakley and Altin (Tintin). They are at different levels and have different aims. I am also doing GCSE’s this year and hope to start a Level 3 Advanced Extended Diploma in Equine Management in September. I hope to one day work in Equine Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy or Equine Nutrition (I’ve not decided yet!).

Prince is a 10 year old part bred Arab with lots of character! He is an Advanced Endurance horse and is also qualified for his FEI*. Prince loves endurance and likes to pull my arms out the whole way round! I would love to complete FEI* and FEI** on Prince this year, with the aim of qualifying him for the FEI Endurance Championships for Young Riders in 2019.

Oakley is a 7 year old Arab that we got from Bransby Rescue Centre. He is at open level and is proving to love endurance, completing all his novice rides with Grade 1’s! He never fails to make people laugh from being very playful to spooking at almost everything! I would also like to get Oakley to Advanced and complete his FEI*. I would love to take Oakley to the FEI Endurance Championships for Young Riders in 2020!

Tintin is a little Arab with lots of character. He is an open level Endurance horse. Tintin is very laid back for an Arab but can still be speedy when he wants to be! He much prefers human friends than Equine friends! My aims for Tintin is to get him to Advanced and hopefully do his FEI*.

For me, horse welfare is by far the most important aspect of riding and competing. So as long as my horses are healthy and happy, I will be pleased with whatever they do! I use my Griffin NuuMed SP14 Endurance Pad for training at home and out competing in Endurance and it’s great to know my horses are comfortable!

Alicia will be blogging for us monthly as well as keeping us all up to date on social media so look out for more posts coming soon!
